SPARQ Track Club

 

SPARQ Track Club, offers competitive athletic training to elementary, middle, and high school students primarily in Manatee an Sarasota Counties.

Students range in age from 5 to18 years old, and primarily come from low economic to moderate income communities. SPARQ is affiliated with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), one of the largest, nonprofit volunteer sports organizations in the United States dedicated exclusively to the promotion and development of amateur sports and physical fitness programs.

SPARQ started in fall of 2021 with the personal financial investments of Coach Sheldon Cantrell, with the a goal of reaching 15 youth to participate in the 2022 track and field season. Within just three weeks, through word of mouth recruitment initiated by the coaching staff, more than 100 student athletes had registered to participate. SPARQ's purpose is to prepare student athletes for life's journey through the disciplines o! athletic training, while promoting positive change as leaders in their community.
